AGM and Presentation Day

Our AGM and Presentation Day will be this Saturday 5 April from 10am at Cook Oval.

Presentations will commence at 10.00am and include Age Champions, Most Improved, Perpetual Trophies and random draw prizes throughout the morning. There will be food and drink provided by the Club.

We will also be holding our AGM. It will be short - the main order of business is the election of Committee members for the 14-15 Season. All positions are declared vacant prior to the meeting. Some current committee members are nominating for positions next year, however, some of our critical positions have no nominations as yet.

We do not have any nominations at present for:
•President
•Secretary
•Recorder
•Registrar

These are critical positions as they are mandated by the Centre's Constitution and are the absolute minimum for the Centre to continue.

We also need nominations for:
•Vice President
•Canteen Manager
•Web Master
•On-Track Coordinator
•Coaching Director.

We do have nominations for the following positions:
•Treasurer (Mel Duncan)
•Officer of Officials (Sam Manning)
•Equipment Officers (Brendan Morling, Dave Pease)

Please consider volunteering for one of our Committee positions to ensure that our club keeps producing great little athletes for years to come. Please email Mel Duncan (mel.duncan8@gmail.com) before Saturday if you wish to nominate for any of the positions. See current 2014 BLAC Committee Role Descriptions

ACTLAA Champs

Congratulations to all BWLAC athletes who competed at the recent ACT Little Athletics Championships. A number of great results were recorded, especially on the new AIS track with a number of big PBs. Results are available on the ACTLAA website.

Special Congratulations to Chioma Enyi, Elizabeth Henderson and Mei Davey who have been selected in the U13 Girls ACT team to compete at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Melbourne in early May.

What is Little Athletics?

Belconnen Wests Little Athletics Centre (BWLAC) has been running for over 40 years, and is part of the ACT Little Athletics Association (ACTLAA). Little Athletics aims to promote and foster athletics amongst children and young people, through friendly competition in a well-run, safe, enjoyable family environment.

We encourage the development of skills and fitness in children of all levels of ability. Little Athletics is not focused on identifying elite athletes, although we do foster talent. There is a place for everyone at Little Athletics.
