How to Register for Little Athletics – Season 2015/16
Children aged 5 to 17 years are able to register for little athletics. A child who turns 5 during the season (1st October 2015 to 31 March 2016) may also register. These athletes will then remain in the Under 6 age group for two seasons. Check the Age Calculator to determine the applicable age group. Fees for the 2015-2016 season are as follows (cost per athlete): first child $125, 2nd child $115, 3rd child $105, 4th child $95, 5th child $75. Proof of age is required for all new athletes (those not previously registered with an ACTLAA affiliated centre). We continue to take registrations after the season has commenced. Registrations received after 10 October 2015 will be charged an administration fee of $10 per family. A refund of registration fees will only be made if you advise our Registrar prior to the commencement of the season and will incur an administration fee of $10 per family.
Step 1 – Registration Online registration is available using the ACTLAA Online System, or access via Little Athletics ACT. We would prefer that parents/carers do not pay online but pay either through direct debit or in person when collecting their registration kits (see Step 2). This is to avoid the online fee charged to the Club. Please also record your receipt number. Registrations can also be made at one of our registration days (see Step 3).
Step 2 – Payment If paying by direct debit, please use our Centre’s bank account, as follows:
▪ – Account Name: Belconnen Wests Little Athletics Centre
▪ – BSB number: 062911
▪ – Account Number: 10077933
▪ – Details: For individual athletes, use Athlete’s first name and surname e.g. JamesSmith. For families, use Eldest athlete’s first name, surname and “family” e.g. SarahJonesFamily. If paying by cash or cheque, you do not need to do anything else until you drop in at one of the BLAC Registration Days to pick up your registration kit.
Step 3 – Registration Kit Come along and pick up your registration kit on Saturday 10 October 2015 from 10am to 12pm at Cook Oval. Each child will receive a registration kit, containing: ▪ – A registration number and age patch that needs to be sewn onto the uniform ▪ – A ticket book to record individual results of events
New Joint Australian Athletics Officials Education Scheme
Athletics Australia and Jetstar Little Athletics Australia has today launched their new joint Australian Athletics Officials Education Scheme (AAEOS). Endorsed by the Australian Sports Commission, the AAEOS delivers an innovative and transparent education pathway for all officials, with online learning coupled with face-to-face education. The scheme’s exemplary education framework will ensure Australian Athletics Officials remain world leaders in event delivery at all levels of athletic competition. The AAOES emphasises the importance of knowledge and competency. It will be widely accessible and will encourage even more people to get involved with athletics through officiating. The levels of this scheme delivered within Australia are: Club/Centre/School Official; AAOES Level 1, State Level Official; AAOES Level 2, National Level Official; AAOES Level 3 The AAEOS is complemented by two additional invitation-only courses delivered at Oceania Athletics Association or International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) level. These courses are designed to provide Australian Athletics Officials with the opportunity to become qualified international level officials. For further details please click here . We will update our website over the next couple of weeks with all the details. Once this is done I will send out an email to all members advising them of the new system. In the meantime please encourage your parents to log in and go through the Level 1. They can come in and out of the system at any time.
Athletics ACT Dual Athlete Any athlete registered with a Little Athletics ACT Centre in the ages U12 to U17 can also join Athletics ACT as a dual member. This will allow athletes to compete at Athletics ACT events. Please click here for all the details on dual registration.
