Subway 2015 Little Athletics ACT Relay Championships – Sunday 13 December 2015

On Sunday 13 December 2015 the Little Athletics ACT Relay Championships will be held at the Woden Park Athletics Centre from 8:30am for all Little Athletes from U7 to U17.  Events for all age groups comprise of two sprint relays and two field event relays.  See the flyer and draft program for the day.  Ideally it would be great to have four members of each gender and each age group register.  Don’t worry if BLAC cannot get four athletes in your age group together as you will be placed in a composite team with other athletes from other clubs.  This is a great fun event and not one to be missed.  So start to get your teams together.  Register your name for this meet on the noticeboard at Cook Oval.

Children aged 5 to 17 years are able to register for little athletics. A child who turns 5 during the season (1st October 2015 to 31 March 2016) may also register. Proof of age is required for all new athletes (those not previously registered with an ACTLAA affiliated centre). We continue to take registrations after the season has commenced. Registrations received after 10 October 2015 will be charged an administration fee of $10 per family. A refund of registration fees will only be made if you advise our Registrar prior to the commencement of the season and will incur an administration fee of $10 per family.

Step 1 – Registration Online registration is available using the ACTLAA Online System, or access via Little Athletics ACT. We would prefer that parents/carers do not pay online but pay either through direct debit or in person when collecting their registration kits (see Step 2). New Joint Australian Athletics Officials Education Scheme

Athletics Australia and Jetstar Little Athletics Australia has today launched their new joint Australian Athletics Officials Education Scheme (AAEOS). Endorsed by the Australian Sports Commission, the AAEOS delivers an innovative and transparent education pathway for all officials, with online learning coupled with face-to-face education. The scheme’s exemplary education framework will ensure Australian Athletics Officials remain world leaders in event delivery at all levels of athletic competition. The AAOES emphasises the importance of knowledge and competency. It will be widely accessible and will encourage even more people to get involved with athletics through officiating. The levels of this scheme delivered within Australia are: Club/Centre/School Official; AAOES Level 1, State Level Official; AAOES Level 2, National Level Official; AAOES Level 3 The AAEOS is complemented by two additional invitation-only courses delivered at Oceania Athletics Association or International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) level. These courses are designed to provide Australian Athletics Officials with the opportunity to become qualified international level officials. For further details please click here . We will update our website over the next couple of weeks with all the details. Once this is done I will send out an email to all members advising them of the new system.
